It’s such a shame that this happens, especially since it’s easily preventable. The obsession with getting a particular breed of dog is pretty much racism applied to dogs. But most people don’t seem to see the connection. Why the heck does it matter what kind of dog you have? What’s wrong with a “mut”? I hate how dogs are treated like objects. They are conscious beings. They feel pain and pleasure just like human beings. Shouldn’t this be enough to treat dogs with a fundamental respect? Our human race appears too have a long way to go in the realm of compassion.
