Antonio Alvarez


ANTONIO ALVAREZ (Montevideo, 1961) is an Uruguayan journalist presently working at Subrayado, Channel 10, where he coordinates the show “Historias de Cárcel” (Testimonies from Prison). He has been an editor for the two main newspapers in Uruguay, El País y El Observador; and has published in news media from Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Italy and Spain. He has interviewed a number of personalities, from politics, science, sports and entertainment, including the actor Marcello Mastroianni, researcher Jacques Cousteau, novelist Morris West, former soccer player Diego Maradona, comics artist Joaquín Lavado (Quino), and former president of Spain José María Aznar.
