JO FREEMAN is a feminist scholar, writer and photographer. She has published 11 books and hundreds of articles, primarily on women. She also writes on social movements, protest and political parties. She received her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Chicago in 1973 and her J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1982. Two of her books won prizes for scholarship at the American Political Science Association, in 1975 and 2003.
