Malgorzata Bakalarz

MALGORZATA BAKALARZ is a Ph.D. student at the New School for Social Research. Holding degrees in art history and sociology, she develops her academic interests around the realms of word and image: her research focuses on discourse analysis, narratives of displacement, visual culture and politics (and distortions) of memory.

Practitioner, rather than academic, she has been active in the NGO sector in Poland, particularly in the domain of civic education and intercultural education. For the last four years she was working as a studio manager for a New York based artist.

Studies at the New School and contributing to Deliberately Considered help her theorize her experience and develop informed reflection on everyday life.
